Core Thyroidology: Pathology


At the conclusion of this course, learners should be able to:

1. Discuss the changes in thyroid pathology related to the latest WHO classification. 

2. Describe the diagnostic criteria for the new entity of differentiated high grade thyroid carcinoma.

3. Discuss the basis for grading medullary thyroid carcinomas.

4. List the gene mutations and fusions categorized as BRAF-like and RAS-like alterations in thyroid neoplasia.

5. Contrast BRAF-like and RAS-like thyroid tumors in terms of their morphologic features and clinical behavior.
