Melanie Goldfarb, MD, MS, FACS, FACE


Melanie Goldfarb, MD, MS, FACS, FACE is an Associate Professor of Surgery and the Director of the Center for Endocrine Tumors and Disorders at the John Wayne Cancer Institute and Providence Saint Johns Health Center. She is a fellowship-trained endocrine surgeon that is an expert in minimally invasive thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal surgery. She also serves as the Medical Director for Cancer Survivorship. After graduating from Brown University and the University of Illinois College of Medicine, she completed her general surgery residency at Harvard Medical School an endocrine surgery fellowship at the University of Miami, and a Masters in clinical and translational research at the University of Southern California. She. She serves as the co-chair of the American Thyroid Association research committee and is on the editorial board of Thyroid. She has authored more than 65 peer-reviewed papers and 45 published abstracts. Her research interests include health disparities and clinical outcomes of endocrine tumors, young adult cancer, cancer survivorship, secondary malignancies, and quality of life for thyroid cancer patients.
